AsSIST-UK PhD Award for 2019 Announced

The Association received a number of nominations for its first PhD Award. The Executive Committee announced the award at the Association’s Annual Conference held in Manchester (Sept 9-10). The award was made to Dr Clémence Pinel who completed her PhD at KCL under the joint supervision of Professors Barbara Prainsack and Chris McDevitt. The work explored the knowledge production of epigenetics in two British research labs. Members regarded it as being of outstanding quality, already recognised for its originality and reach through academic publications. Moreover it speaks across disciplines and between STS and Innovation Studies, a key criterion for the award. Clémence is now a postdoc researcher at the Centre for Medical Science and Technology Studies, University of Copenhagen.
