Letter to Cabinet Office on use of research evidence

The Association has written to Matthew Hancock MP, Minister at the Cabinet Office, in regard to the government’s proposal to introduce restrictions on the use/dissemination of research-based evidence generated through government funding: the clause reads that such evidence cannot be used to “support activity intended to influence or attempt to influence Parliament, government or political parties … or attempting to influence legislative or regulatory action”.  The Letter which expresses our collective concern, one that is shared across the research community, can be found here.
