Well thought out Test cases across a representative spread of Process Scenarios provides effective testing. Well documented/scripted test cases can provide reliable repeat testing not just for the first implementation but for later regression testing.

The Test Cases can be used to build the test database, test scripts and expected test results. This can be used to assist in the ‘fixing’ process, where test cases can simply be referenced and the ‘fixer’ can immediately identify the test and required result.

What

Based on the Requirements, Business Processes, Data Flows (interfaces), Specifications and Scenarios a comprehensive set of test cases are provided and tailored to the time available vrs acceptable coverage (related to the level of risk the change represents to the Business). cross section are identified and documented.

How

This will be determined with you, but typically:

· Review Requirements including Processes and Data in conjunction with the Process Scenarios

· Build a list of representative Standard test cases, then exception and destructive test cases

· Determine the test cases to be used in the time available

· Document the test cases.
