Why |
Projects are implemented today in complex environments, and end-to-end testing must be provided to minimise the business risk. Time is money; careful Scenario analysis moves towards maximising the use of time while minimising risk through effective testing. |

What |
Understanding the requirements and the impacts these have on the business processes and data allows lists of scenarios to be established. The main ones and a representative cross section are identified and documented. |
How |
This will be determined with you, but typically: |
· Determine the requirements of the Test team, if they are appointed |
· Use of Requirements documents and workshops (or as part of Requirements) to identify the business processes and scenarios these represent e.g use of, or providing Use Cases or Process/Activity Diagrams. |
· Agree on the main scenarios and a representative list |
· Identify relevant exception sub-scenarios |
· Identify any destructive testing requirements |
· Provide documentation identifying the scenarios and the main test points. |
