Why

Projects are implemented today in complex environments, and end-to-end testing must be provided to minimise the business risk. Time is money; careful Scenario analysis moves towards maximising the use of time while minimising risk through effective testing.

What

Understanding the requirements and the impacts these have on the business processes and data allows lists of scenarios to be established. The main ones and a representative cross section are identified and documented.

How

This will be determined with you, but typically:

� Determine the requirements of the Test team, if they are appointed

� Use of Requirements documents and workshops (or as part of Requirements) to identify the business processes and scenarios these represent e.g use of, or providing Use Cases or Process/Activity Diagrams.

� Agree on the main scenarios and a representative list

� Identify relevant exception sub-scenarios

� Identify any destructive testing requirements

� Provide documentation identifying the scenarios and the main test points.
